Isn’t a plushie (soft toy) one of the first projects young sewers usually like to try? My very first sewing project, by hand, was of a small white kitten-sized cat. I think I was able to somehow attach all of the limbs and ears, etc. It was not exactly a beginner sewing project for *anyone* but by golly the home economics teacher was determined to punish me with that project. I think my Mom still has it.
