I’ve bought a Silhouette Portrait! Now what should I do with it?

I started reading about craft cutting machines on MakeItLoveIt and was intrigued.  The fact that it can cut fabric as well as vinyl and cardstock convinced me I should have one!

Silhouette Portrait

So I bought one and it arrived a couple of weeks ago.  I unpacked it, and following the instructions I loaded the software then connected the cutter to make sure it all worked.

Vicious looking hook!

Then I sorted out my tools.  I have a big blue scraper, a small black scraper, a hook, a spatula and a pick me up.  I also have the blue fabric blade and the sketch pen starter pack together with a sample pack of vinyl and cardstock.

Not gathering dust!

I read the manual, then turned it off and fitted the dust cover.

It has sat there ever since.

I really don’t know what to try!  I don’t do scrapbooking, but I love the idea of using it for label, cards and applique motifs.  I wondered if I could use it to produce the Sons of Anarchy logo as an applique for my other half, who is a big fan, to put on the cigar box guitar bag I made for him?

Anyone else had this sort of writer’s block  Answers on a postcard… no, come to think of it,

ADD A COMMENT ON WHAT YOU THINK I SHOULD TRY FIRST, OR WHAT YOU TRIED FIRST WITH YOUR SILHOUETTE!
