Sew an Easy A-Line Skirt

Sew an Easy A-Line Skirt

In this free video Alisa Shay from Thoughtful Creativity demonstrates how she drafts a very simple, yet versatile A-line skirt with an elastic waist, pockets in the front and back, and a cute belt accent. A very easy skirt to sew, an A-line skirt is a garment that is fitted at the hips and gradually widens towards the hem, creating the shape of a capital letter “A”. Unlike a simple gathered skirt, a gathered A-line skirt does not add extra gathers at the waist – which is great, but you can still enjoy flared bottom of the skirt. No zipper! An A-line skirt is fitted to the upper hips with seams and/or darts. Denim A-line skirts, often have buttons down the center seam. A belt is sometimes used as it is here. An A-line skirt can be any length
